Tidal Power major Atlantis Resources Corporation has revealed that its going to start with a new project in Castle of Mey.
This would create major employment opportunity for Prince Charles’ organic business in Caithness. It would also help to lessen the blow from the workforce reductions in Dounreay nuclear power complex. Major employment would be created for installation, operation and maintenance of the Power plant.
The plan though in early stages would be powered by a tidal scheme in the Pentland Firth. Morgan Stanley has a major stake in Atlantis. Atlantis is one of the key players in development of Tidal Power.
The New Data Center would provide services to major companies and as it would be powered by renewable sources and not Fossil Fuel.
The Data Center would also warm the nearby greenhouses from the excess heat generated at the plant which would be used to grow organic food under the Mey Selections range.
The water stretch near the Caithness has been well known for its raging waters and its shipwrecks in the past. The Pentland Firth lies between the northern mainland and the Orkney isles.
It can be said that it’s a Saudi Arabia of Marine Energy. Many places in Caithness are even mentioned in Viking Stories.
