Ubuntu has given priority to security and is given free of cost for first 18 months on desktop and servers.There is also a long term support version which is free for a duration of 3 years for desktops and 5 years for servers.

Ubuntu comes in a CD but if you require additional software’s then they are available on the web(http://www.ubuntu.com).

It is technically supported by companies such Alacos,IBM,Centrify,MySQL,Real etc.

The word Ubuntu sounds a bit crazy or senseless but its African meaning is “Humanity To Others”.
